MY Bharat Organises Two-Day District Level Sports Meet in Chandigarh

MY Bharat under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, successfully organised a two-day District Level Sports Meet on 23rd and 24th February 2026 at the Sports Complex, Sector–7, Chandigarh. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from boys and girls in the 15–29 years age group from across the city.

The sports meet was organised in line with the vision of the FIT India Movement, aiming to promote physical fitness, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among youth. Competitions for boys included Volleyball, Badminton, and the 400 meters race, while girls competed in Tug of War, Badminton, and the 200 meters race.

Sh. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, stated that such initiatives encourage youngsters to devote at least 30 minutes daily to physical activity and sports. He emphasized that sports play a crucial role in personality development, teamwork, and leadership building among youth.

Sh. Sachin Singla, Assistant Public Relations Officer (DPR), Chandigarh Administration, graced the post-event ceremony as the Chief Guest and felicitated the winners of the sports meet. He appreciated MY Bharat for providing a competitive platform to young athletes.

In the competitions, Sher-E-Punjab Youth Club won the Volleyball title. Mohit Verma and Ragini secured top positions in Badminton (Boys and Girls respectively). Harish won the 400 meters race, while Gurpreet secured first position in the 200 meters race. Shrishti Karma Foundation Youth Club emerged victorious in Tug of War.

The event was supported by Parwaaz Foundation Youth Club, Yuva Stambh Youth Club, and Global Youth Federation Youth Club. It was also conducted as a Green Event, with Bisleri International serving as Recycle Partner and ensuring proper collection and recycling of plastic waste generated during the meet.
