Today, Aam Aadmi Party’s State Chief Spokesperson, MLA and former Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal conducted a physical inspection of model sports grounds under construction in 11 villages of the Ajnala constituency, including Jhander, Sahinsra Kalan, Khatraaye Kalan, Teda Khurd, Teda Kalan, Bath, Dhariwal Kaler, Chak Sikander and Talwandi Nahar. These projects are being developed at a cost of ₹3.74 crore.
During the inspection, he issued clear instructions to the concerned departmental officials and contractors that in the construction of model sports grounds—being built at a cost of ₹10.34 crore across 34 villages in the Ajnala Assembly constituency—there must be complete transparency, honesty, public participation, and high quality standards. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.
He further clarified that the construction work in all 34 villages must be completed by March 31 under all circumstances. No compromise will be made regarding delays or the quality of construction material. Strict action, including the registration of police cases against erring officials, employees, or contractors, will be taken if any lapses are found.
Addressing rural development corner meetings during the visit, Dhaliwal said that to promote sports culture across Punjab, model sports grounds are being constructed in dozens of villages at a cost of ₹3,100 crore. Additionally, the government is providing free health insurance coverage up to ₹10 lakh to 3 crore citizens of Punjab, supplying 600 units of free electricity per household consumer without discrimination—benefiting each consumer by approximately ₹5,000—and strengthening government schools under the education revolution by upgrading infrastructure and academic standards to national levels.
He also highlighted the opening of Aam Aadmi Party clinics to provide quality free healthcare and the strengthening of law and order and communal harmony across the state through campaigns such as “War Against Drugs” and “Operation Prahar” to combat gangsterism, extortion, and drug trafficking.
Dhaliwal said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, this is the first government in Punjab’s history that is working with a vision not only for urban development but also for making villages self-reliant and developing them as model villages. As a result, no shortcoming is being allowed in rural development.
