Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing issuance of Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna cards in Sangrur district during a high-level meeting with district officials. He directed the administration to ensure that every eligible beneficiary is covered under the scheme and that the process is carried out in mission mode with efficiency and transparency.
The Health Minister stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening healthcare services across the state. He described the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna as a transformative initiative aimed at providing quality and cashless healthcare services to citizens, thereby reducing their financial burden during medical emergencies.
Highlighting the district’s strategy, Dr. Balbir Singh informed that detailed micro-management planning has been implemented at the constituency and block levels to streamline operations. Daily targets have been fixed and progress is being closely monitored to ensure timely completion.
At present, eight camps are being organised daily in each Assembly constituency, taking the total to 40 camps per day across the district. In addition, Common Service Centres (CSCs) are facilitating the issuance of cards to enhance accessibility and convenience for residents.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba briefed the Minister about the ongoing efforts and assured that the district administration is fully mobilised to achieve 100 percent coverage within the stipulated timeframe. The Health Minister also appealed to educated youth to come forward and register as sub-operators to support the large-scale enrolment drive.
He said this initiative would not only speed up the card-making process but also create meaningful employment opportunities at the grassroots level. Directing officials to promptly address any technical or administrative bottlenecks, Dr. Balbir Singh emphasised that continuous monitoring and coordination among departments would remain a priority.
He reiterated that Sangrur district is expected to set a benchmark in the effective implementation of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna. Senior officers of the health department, district administration and representatives of concerned agencies were present during the meeting.
