CM’s OSD Sukhveer Singh inaugurates development projects worth ₹4.17 crore in Dhuri

With the objective of developing Dhuri as a modern and model city, OSD to the Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, Sukhveer Singh, on Sunday inaugurated various development works worth approximately ₹4.17 crore in Dhuri city. These projects form a key component of the Punjab Government’s sustained efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure and enhance civic amenities for residents.
During the event, OSD Sukhveer Singh inaugurated works worth ₹2.15 crore for the beautification and upgradation of the main entry point of Dhuri city from the Sangrur side in Ward No. 9. He stated that under this project, high-quality tiles will be laid across an area of nearly 80,000 square feet.
To further enhance the city’s visual appeal, 19 single-bracket poles and 12 double-bracket poles will also be installed. He further informed that palm trees will be planted at the entry point and around 40 decorative lights will be installed to highlight the greenery, giving the city entrance an attractive and aesthetically pleasing look, especially during nighttime.
In addition, an ITI road will be constructed at a cost of ₹67 lakh. Apart from this, development works worth approximately ₹1.35 crore were also inaugurated in Ward No. 4 of Dhuri city. These works include laying interlocking tiles near Gol Park and the stitching centre area, installation of PVC pipelines, and renovation of streets and drains.
These initiatives are expected to significantly improve sanitation and traffic movement in the area. Addressing the gathering, OSD Sukhveer Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government remains firmly committed to the comprehensive development of cities and towns.
He asserted that no effort would be spared to develop Dhuri into a clean, well-planned, and facility-rich model city. He further stated that the tender for the long-pending demand of Dhuri residents the Railway Over Bridge has already been issued and that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will soon inaugurate the construction work.
The ROB, to be constructed at a cost of ₹54 crore, will provide a permanent solution to the city’s traffic congestion. Earlier, OSD Sukhveer Singh also attended a programme organised by the Sanatan Dharma Sabha on the occasion of the Trimurti Shiv Jayanti Mahotsav.
On the occasion, Chairman of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation Dalvir Singh Dhillon, Punjab Waqf Board member Dr Anwar Bhasaur, Anil Mittal, Pushpinder Sharma, Zila Parishad member Harjinder Singh Kanjhla, Ramandeep Singh, Vijay Kumar Goel, Sham Singla, Naresh Singla, Jaspal Bhullar, Rachhpal Singh, Rajiv Chaudhary, along with a large number of local residents, were present.
