Komal Mittal reviews sewerage, STP and storm water disposal works in Kharar

Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, Ms. Komal Mittal today afternoon reviewed the ongoing sewerage work on the Kharar–Landran Road and directed the Executive Officer (EO), Municipal Council, Kharar to immediately float tenders so that restoration work of the road could commence in March. She also instructed the EO to ensure proper and suitable disposal of storm water in the area.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the under-construction Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Khoonimajra. Officers of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board apprised her that around 70 percent of the work has been completed and the STP is likely to be commissioned by July 2026. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized timely completion of the project to strengthen sewerage infrastructure in the region.

Thereafter, Ms. Komal Mittal reviewed the storm water disposal work at Chajjumajra Road near SBP Homes and directed the Executive Officer, MC Kharar to complete the remaining work, including laying of tiles, well before the onset of the monsoon so that residents do not face any inconvenience during the rainy season.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Mr. Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, SDM Kharar Ms. Divya P and other concerned officers were also present during the inspection.
