Under the leadership of Chairman of the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon, an anti-drug padyatra was organized at village Salempur in the Dhuri Assembly constituency under the “Yudh Nashean Virudh” campaign. On this occasion, police officials, coordinators of the anti-drug campaign, ward volunteers and a large number of local residents participated enthusiastically.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the second phase of the “Yudh Nashean Virudh” campaign is being implemented with door-to-door outreach to eradicate the drug menace from its roots. He emphasized that public support is essential for eliminating drugs and urged people to actively associate themselves with this campaign.
He further stated that continuous padyatras are being organized across the Dhuri constituency to create awareness about the harmful effects of drugs by reaching out to people at their doorsteps. He added that the campaign is receiving an overwhelming response from the public, which is a positive sign of social change.
Chairman Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that drugs are not a solution to any problem; instead, they aggravate difficulties. Therefore, drug addicts are being motivated to seek treatment, and efforts are also being made for their rehabilitation.
He appealed to the public to extend full support to the administration and the government in the fight against drugs. On this occasion, Sarpanch Bhim Singh, Chairman PADB Sherpur Tarlochan Singh, Manpreet Mani, Jagtar Singh, Harmel Singh, Harjinder Singh Kaka, Harpal Singh, Mahinder Singh, along with a large number of villagers, were present.
