A significant press conference was organized today at the Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh Office, Kamalam, Sector-33. The press conference was addressed by BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President Jitendra Pal Malhotra. Chandigarh Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla and former BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President and current Himachal Pradesh Co-Incharge Sanjay Tandon were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the media, Pradesh President Jitendra Pal Malhotra stated that inspired by the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his people-centric and welfare-oriented policies, and the clear development vision of the Bharatiya Janata Party, two councillors from the Aam Aadmi Party joined the BJP today. He informed that Councillor Poonam from Ward No. 16 and Councillor Suman Sharma from Ward No. 4 formally took the membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party, expressing faith in the party’s ideology.

He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed historic progress in the fields of development, good governance, and self-reliance. Government schemes are reaching the last person in society, which has significantly strengthened public trust in the BJP.

This growing trust is the main reason why elected representatives from other political parties are choosing to associate themselves with the BJP. Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla welcomed both councillors into the BJP family and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new direction of development has been set not only for Chandigarh but for the entire nation.

She added that the inclusion of new members will further strengthen the organization. Sanjay Tandon stated that the continuous expansion of the BJP reflects the increasing public confidence in the policies and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the press conference, Councillor Suman Sharma termed her joining as a “homecoming.” She said that she has had a long-standing association with the Bharatiya Janata Party and, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and policies, she has returned to her original ideology.

She pledged to work sincerely to take the party’s vision to the grassroots level. Councillor Poonam also stated that she joined the BJP after being impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development-oriented policies and assured her commitment towards public service with full dedication.
