Smriti Irani Inaugurates KRITI Exhibition- 2014

Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Smriti Irani, inaugurated KRITI Exhibition 2014 here today. This Exhibition has been organised as part of national of International Literacy Day 2014 celebrations. In her inaugural address, she congratulated and thanked the artisans and beneficiaries of Jan Shikshan Sansthans (JSSs) for organising the Exhibition and participating in it. She said that JSSs offer a unique combination of culture, vocational training and education. JSSs in consultation with concerned officials of Ministry of Human Resource Development should fix for themselves the target of ‘Jan Dhan Yojna’ for economic empowerment of their beneficiaries, the Minister added. A cultural programme was also staged during inaugural ceremony. Around 250 JSSs from all over India are participating in the Exhibition; and 24 JSSs identified as nodal JSSs have set up their stalls and displayed the products made by their beneficiaries. Artisans of JSSs are also giving live demonstration of their skills. KRITI Exhibition 2014 will remain open for public from September 6 – 8, 2014 between 10.30 am and 7.30 pm at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi.
