A 17 year old girl set herself on fire in broad day light at Handwara Bus Stand in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District.Eyewitness told CNS that the daughter of a close associate of a State Minister appeared in Handwara Bus Stand and sprayed petrol on her body. As she lit the matchstick, a shopkeeper in a bid to save her pounced upon her resulting in the burn injuries of the said shopkeeper as well.SP Handwara Maqsoodul Zaman told CNS that the girl was shifted with severe burn injuries to SMHS hospital. “We have registered a case and investigation has been taken up,” he said.
