Continuing the Punjab Government’s mission to provide housing to the needy, MLA Kulwant Singh today handed over sanction letters of five-marla plots to 70 homeless families of Village Baliali, District SAS Nagar. The event marked yet another milestone in Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of ensuring housing for all needy families under the State Government’s welfare initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Kulwant Singh reaffirmed that the government is fully committed to the upliftment of weaker sections of society. He said, “Every family deserves a roof over their head and a dignified life. The Mann Government is making continuous efforts to fulfill this dream.”

He added that with the allotment of five-marla plots, beneficiaries will soon be able to construct their own houses under this people-centric initiative. Highlighting the pro-people policies of the Punjab Government, the MLA mentioned that the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Government has already been providing free electricity up to 600 units for domestic consumers — a move that has provided much-needed relief to lakhs of households across the state.

Emphasizing the need to eradicate the menace of drugs from Punjab, he spoke about Mission Yudh Nasheya Virudh, launched to make the youth drug-free and channel their energy towards nation-building. He said, “Drug traffickers are facing the heat of this mission, with their illegal properties being demolished and many of them being put behind bars.”

Extending warm greetings on the Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji, the MLA called upon everyone to follow the path of truth, equality, and compassion shown by the great saint. He said the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji continue to inspire generations to live righteous and selfless lives.

The function was organized by the Gram Panchayat Baliali in collaboration with the BDPO Office, SAS Nagar (Mohali). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, who thanked the Punjab Government and local administration for their proactive efforts in addressing grassroots-level needs.
