Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that no government rules alone can transform society, real change has always come from the people themselves. He emphasized that literature and writers can play a crucial role in driving social reform.

“Cities are not built merely with bricks and cement, they need a strong social fabric. Writers must come forward to guide society on the right path. One may be born a human, but becoming humane is equally important,” he added.

Sh. Vij was addressing the gathering after unveiling the poetry collection “Rangrez Mere Alfaazon Ke” by poet and Arya Girls College Principal, Dr. Anupama Arya, at the Central Phoenix Club in Ambala Cantonment. The collection features poems centered on Cabinet Minister Anil Vij and Anupama Arya’s family.

Speaking at the event, Vij remarked that poetry can only be written by someone with a deep reservoir of emotions. “A person without emotions cannot be a poet. Literature infuses positivity into life. While negativity is increasingly dominating today’s world, especially through television, positivity keeps one in bliss. When literature adds to that positivity, the impact is even greater,” he said.

Sh. Vij also said that Anupama Arya’s poems about him serve as a source of inspiration. “When someone continues to work without recognition, negativity creeps in. Through her poetry, Anupama fills that gap with positivity. Anyone doing good work deserves appreciation. Throughout my career, I have always believed in encouraging good work as much as penalizing the wrong,” he emphasized.

On this occasion, Dr. Anupama Arya expressed gratitude to the chief guest and shared insights about her poetry collection. She explained that the book highlights the life and values of her father, Krishna Lal Verma, her son, as well as Minister Anil Vij. Several poets and literary figures also praised the collection.Renowned poet Bilal Saharanpuri recited a special poem in honor of Anil Vij, commending his style of working and urging others to draw inspiration from it.
