PM has instilled the spirit of cleanliness across the nation through ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission : Krishan Lal Panwar

Haryana Development and Panchayat and Mines and Geology Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, said that cleanliness is not the responsibility of a single individual but a collective duty of all. Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swachh Bharat’ abhiyan  on October 2, 2014, appealing to all citizens of India to actively participate. 

By transforming it into a nationwide mass movement, the Prime Minister has successfully kindled the spirit of cleanliness in every corner of the country.Sh. Krishna Lal Panwar said this while speaking as the Chief Guest at a state-level ceremony organised by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department in Gadhpuri village, Palwal.

Notably, 22 Sarpanches from across Haryana, leading in cleanliness efforts, were honored for their exemplary work.  The Minister urged other Sarpanches to draw inspiration from them. Under the guidance of the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the campaign has been launched in 750 villages across the state, and all present were encouraged to take a pledge for cleanliness and hygiene.

 Sh. Krishna Lal Panwar said that it is everyone’s responsibility to make Haryana Number One in cleanliness, achievable only through collective cooperation and participation.He appealed to representatives of Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis, and Gram Panchayats to promote “waste-to-best” practices and utilize waste for various productive purposes. 

He added that the government is planning to use cow dung from gaushalas for gas production through plants, with more than 100 gaushalas already identified for the initiative.The Minister also stressed giving full respect and honor to Safai Karamchari, treating them with dignity, and highlighted that the government is continuously working for their welfare and upliftment.

Sh. Krishna Lal Panwar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is consistently working to realize the vision of Gram Swaraj. No shortage of funds will be allowed for village development.

Under the first phase of the department’s initiatives, 2,200 silted ponds will be renovated and beautified into grand parks. Where Gram Panchayat buildings are available, the government will set up Mahila Sanskriti Kendra, E-Libraries, and Indoor Gyms. 

Village streets will be paved, streetlights installed, and in villages without a Gram Secretariat, Rs. 25 lakh will be transferred via DBT to the accounts of the Sarpanches. Roads of 3rd and 4th karam in Sajra will also be concreted, he said.

The Minister urged representatives of Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis, and Gram Panchayats to perform effectively at all levels and work in coordination. He also listened to the grievances and issues of the Sarpanches and called for their prompt resolution.Sh. Krishna Lal Panwar highlighted that under  the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh.Narendra Modi the central government is actively promoting the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. 

The idea behind this campaign is that supporting local products will strengthen small entrepreneurs, gradually enabling their products to reach global markets, achieving the goal of ‘Local for Global’.Director, Rural Development Department, Sh. Rahul Narwal, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Harish Kumar Vashishth, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Varun Singla and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
