AICTE-Sponsored 'VAANI 2025' Workshop Successfully Concludes at Indo Global Colleges

Three-Day Workshop on Smart Cities and Mobility Attended by Over 60 Participants

The AICTE-sponsored 'VAANI 2025' Workshop was organized at Indo Global Colleges. The three-day event was inaugurated on September 24th by Dr. Balwinder Singh, Joint Director, C-DAC Mohali, and Ar. Surinder Bahga, Founder, SAAKAAR Foundation. 

The workshop primarily aimed to promote the Punjabi language in academics, research, and professional communication, thereby encouraging linguistic diversity and inclusivity in education.  More than 60 participants from various institutes and industry backgrounds attended the workshop.

The workshop commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a soulful Saraswati-Vandana. The dignitaries were honored with green planters, symbolizing growth and sustainability. Dr. Promila Kaushal delivered the inaugural address, setting a thoughtful and inspiring tone. 

The ceremony beautifully blended culture, tradition, and academic spirit, marking a graceful beginning to the event. Over the three days, the workshop featured in-depth discussions on 12 topics related to Smart Cities, Mobility, and Automation.  Dr. Balwinder Singh led a session on Smart Cities through IoT-Enabled Smart Agriculture, introducing his patented Soil Monitoring System for real-time analysis, enabling precision farming. 

Ar. Surinder Bahga defined Smart Cities and Mobility, emphasizing sustainable transport, Electric Vehicles (EVs), shared transport, and intelligent traffic management systems. Dr. Sarabjeet Singh shed light on the fundamentals of Machine Learning, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning. Dr. P.K. Bansal explained the key stages of Design Thinking, which aid in understanding user needs and creating impactful solutions. 

Dr. Shalom Akhai presented a session on Automation in Air Conditioning Systems, discussing IoT integration and energy-efficient techniques. Er. Harpreet Singh highlighted Automation in Welding Technology, focusing on robotic welding and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for improved precision and safety. 

Dr. Vijay Kumar Jadon discussed the interdisciplinary applications of Mechatronic Systems, particularly in smart mobility, drones, and automated vehicles. Er. Harmesh Lal illustrated IoT applications in Smart Cities, including traffic management, energy grids, and smart buildings. 

Mr. Anoop Sharma elaborated on Industrial Automation, showcasing live projects in advanced manufacturing. Dr. R.K. Bhardwaj provided insights into Implantable Devices, including pacemakers, cochlear implants, and AI-enabled monitoring.

On the final day, participants successfully appeared for the mandatory online test required for the issuance of certificates, reflecting their active engagement and knowledge acquisition.
