Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr T Benith today called upon the residents of Barnala district to ensure that water does not stagnate around their surroundings in order to avoid vector born diseases. While presiding over the meeting of health department Mr Benith directed the department to conduct door to door checking to detect larva of diseases like dengue and malaria. 

He added that the owner of building, where larva is found, should be issued a challan so that in future people keep their surroundings clean. He also directed that screening of residential and commercial areas should be done regularly and whenever a case of dengue or malaria is reported, proper treatment and monitoring be done.

He also directed that in the ensuing festival season, the health department should intensify checking of the food and dairy products. The food samples should be taken and sent for testing. In case of report of failure of sample received, strict action be taken against the erring food joint.

He also reviewed working of all the 14 Aayushman Aarogya Clinics where 508515 people have taken treatment and 311893 lab tests have been conducted so far. Similarly, the 10219 people with disabilities (Divyangjan) have been issued Unique Disability ID card so far.

Giving details of children treated under Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karyakram (RBSK) he said that children area treated under this scheme for 31 diseases. From April to August, 211 children have been treated which include 9 cases of congenital heart disease, 4 children treated for cleft palate and remaining children referred to other hospitals for various ailments.
