‘Namo Yuva Run’ in Gurugram spreads message of a drug-free society; Over 10,000 youth participates in the marathon

A message of Drug-free society was spread through ‘Namo Yuva Run’ in Gurugram today.The marathon, which began from Laser Valley Parking, witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 10,000 youth. The event was flagged off by Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh. Manohar Lal. Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh and Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Sh. Gaurav Gautam were also present at the event.
Union Minister for Power, Sh. Manohar Lal, while addressing the youth who participated in the run, urged them to take the lead in building a drug-free society. He said that addiction destroys an individual’s potential and weakens society. If youth stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, and skill development, not only will their own future be secure but the entire society will progress.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that nearly 65 percent of India’s population today consists of youth, which is the nation’s biggest strength. Because of this strength, every district and state of the country can achieve new heights of development.
He further said that Haryana’s youth are excelling not only in the state but also across the nation, leaving their mark in fields such as sports, education, technology, and industry. Education and skill development are the true strengths of the youth, and if they continue on this path, their contribution in making India a developed nation will be of utmost importance.
The Union Minister further said that hard work must never be compromised in life, but along with hard work, staying healthy is equally important. For this, every individual must adopt yoga in daily life. Citing Swami Vivekananda, he said – “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”
Today’s youth too must draw inspiration from these words and move forward. He said Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ as a concrete step towards realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of cleanliness, and in this mission, every section of society must contribute.
The Union Minister stated that programmes like the 'Namo Yuva Run' provide an important platform to foster the energy and talent of youth. Such events not only give the message of discipline and unity but also strengthen the spirit of nation-building. Under the nationwide special campaign blood donation camps and other activities are further spreading the message of public service and social awareness.
Role of youth is crucial in realizing the dream of a New India: Rao Narbir Singh
Whilw addressing the gathering, Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that to commemorate the birthday of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, a nationwide special campaign is being organised from September 17 to October 2, 2025 with special activities and awareness programmes.
These include blood donation, health check-ups, plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, sports competitions, and several other community service activities, which are witnessing active participation of the public, especially the youth.He said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed nation by 2047.
For this goal, not just economic progress, but also public health, environmental protection, and moral responsibility are equally important. If we move ahead while safeguarding nature and the environment, the journey of development will become stronger. Youth will be playing a vital role in realizing the dream of a New India.

Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Sh. Gaurav Gautam, while addressing the youth, said that the ‘Namo Yuva Run’ is an important link in instilling discipline, endurance, patience, and strengthening unity for nation-building in the lives of young people. Such events, he said, inspire patriotism, healthy competition, and positive thinking among the youth, which are essential for India’s bright future.
The Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has pledged to make India a developed nation by 2047, and youth have the biggest role in achieving this vision. Today’s youth, he added, are the backbone of campaigns like Digital India, Skill India, and Fit India. These initiatives are not just programmes but the strong foundation of a New India. He appealed to the youth to adopt the mantra of ‘Vocal for Local’ and contribute to making India self-reliant.
