Reviews the ongoing works for further strengthening of the bundh

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal on Thursday early morning visited the Dhussi Bundh at village Mandala Chhanna. During the visit, he reviewed the ongoing works being carried out for further strengthening of the bundh and encouraged the officials and employees of the Drainage and other departments, along with local volunteers, who have been working day and night on this task.

Dr. Aggarwal informed that the officers/employees of the Drainage and other departments, along with hundreds of volunteers and members of the Sangat, have been working tirelessly for the past several days to strengthen and secure the vulnerable stretch of the bundh. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the local residents and listened to their problems. 

He assured them that the district administration is addressing their issues simultaneously. He said that under the leadership of the Punjab Government, the district administration is keeping a close watch on the entire situation and all efforts are being made to safeguard this bundh.

It is worth mentioning that units of the Army, SDRF, Police, along with labor, local volunteers and Sangat are continuously working for further strengthening of the bundh. The administration and the Drainage Department are also arranging large quantities of soil-filled bags from other districts to be placed here. 

Work is being carried out in a planned manner at every level to ensure the safety of the bundh.Since the flow of the river is towards the bundh, the situation is undoubtedly sensitive, but the bundh still remains intact.
