MLA Kulwant Singh today flagged off two vehicles carrying relief material from the District Administrative Complex, Mohali, to the flood-affected border districts. The relief consignment included dry ration kits, drinking water, tarpaulins, medicines, and cattle feed.
He said that the people of the border areas are facing extremely tough times, having lost almost everything to floods. Stressing the importance of extending a helping hand, he remarked that Mohali district stands committed to supporting both the people and their milch cattle in this hour of need.
Commending the District Administration and District Red Cross Society for contributing 300 dry ration kits, as well as organizations like the Rotary Club and Mohali Industries Association for providing additional relief material, the MLA added that Verka Milk Plant, Mohali, had also dispatched 700 dry ration kits yesterday.
