Chandigarh Gatka Association (Regd.) In Collaboration with Chandigarh Gurdwara Asthapan Committee Chandigarh, August 10, 2025 – The Chandigarh Gatka Association Regd.), in alliance with the Chandigarh Gurdwara Asthapan Committee, successfully organised the Chandigarh State Gatka Selection Trials on 10th August 2025 at Gurdwara Sahib, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh, for the upcoming 3rd National Virsa Sambhal Gatka Championship 2025, scheduled to be held at Gurdwara Garna Sahib, Bodal, Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab) on 13th–14th September 2025.

A total of 100 participants took part in the trials. The Secretary General of CGA, S. Simranjit Singh, informed that the selection process was based on four key criteria:

- Fitness – 25 Marks

- Sikhi Saroop – 25 Marks

- Gatka Skills – 25 Marks

- Recitation of Japji Sahib Baani – 25 Marks

Selections are being made purely on a merit basis, and the results will be announced on the official website of the Chandigarh Gatka Association – www.chandigarhgatkaassociation.com.

The opening ceremony of the trials was conducted by S. Gurjot Singh Sawhney, Chairman of CGA and General Secretary of the Chandigarh Gurdwara Asthapan Committee. In his address, Mr. Sawhney commended the dedication and performance of all participants, encouraging them to uphold the values and discipline of Gatka, while extending his blessings for their future endeavors.

The Selection Committee for the event included:

Maninder Singh, Charanjeet Kaur, Mandeep Singh, Karnail Singh, Davinder Singh, Husanpreet Kaur, Shehbaz Singh, Shaminder Singh, and Gurjinder Singh. The Chandigarh Gatka Association expressed gratitude to all participants, organisers, and volunteers for making the trials a success.
