District Administration Rajouri organises concluding ceremony of ‘Aakanksha Haat’ at Baila Bus Stand

The District Administration Rajouri today held the concluding ceremony of Aakanksha Haat, a week-long exhibition at Baila Bus Stand aimed at promoting local products and empowering Self Help Groups (SHGs).

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma was the chief guest at the event, which marked a milestone in providing SHGs with a dedicated platform for direct selling and public engagement. SHGs enthusiastically participated, showcasing a wide variety of local products, which received appreciation from visitors. 

To acknowledge outstanding performances, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated the top three SHGs with highest sales Choudhary SHG Rehtal (first prize), Rose SHG Khawas (second prize), and Patti SHG Manjakote (third prize).

The DC underscored the importance of strengthening SHGs as a key pillar of grassroots economic development. He noted that such initiatives align with the Aspirational Block Programme under the Sampoornata Samman Abhiyan in Khawas. 

He commended the efforts of officers and stakeholders in making the event a success. He assured continued support from the administration to provide further marketing and sales opportunities for SHGs, contributing to sustainable livelihoods and women empowerment. Among others present were ACP Sheraz Chouhan, ACD Auqil Naveed, DSEO Sandeep Sharma, and other district and sectoral officers.
