DECC Ramban organises Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Mela at GPC Chanderkote

The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) Ramban, in collaboration with Government Polytechnic College, Chanderkote, organized a One-Day Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Mela today at the Polytechnic College campus.
The event was graced by the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, as the Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak, Principal Government Polytechnic Chanderkote Vivek Mahajan, Assistant Director Employment, Superintendent ITI Ramban, District Nodal Officer JKEDI, General Manager DIC Ramban, faculty members of local colleges and ITIs and officials of DECC Ramban.
The primary objective of the Mela was to equip the youth with essential skills, entrepreneurial insights, and real-world exposure, fostering a skilled, confident, and self-reliant generation. The event featured hands-on sessions, live demonstrations, app-based learning, and displays of handmade tools, including a live demonstration of the Mission YUVA portal.
Resource persons from various line departments conducted sessions on topics such as Canva, MS Excel, PowerPoint, professional behaviour, communication enhancement, and IT sector counseling.
During the Mela, the Deputy Commissioner distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries under Mission YUVA and presented awards to the best stalls displayed by students of Polytechnic and ITI institutions.
Skill demonstration stalls were set up by Government Polytechnic Chanderkote, ITI Banihal, and ITI Ramban, showcasing innovative student projects and departmental exhibits. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of establishing self-employment ventures and enlightened participants about the benefits and opportunities offered under Mission YUVA, encouraging the youth to actively pursue entrepreneurial pathways.
