Hardeep Singh Mundian inaugurates two water supply schemes worth Rs.1.17 crore in Jalandhar
Both schemes will ensure clean drinking water at doorsteps of 432 rural households in the district

In a major boost to rural infrastructure, Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation, Water Supply & Sanitation Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Wednesday inaugurated two water supply schemes in Jalandhar, constructed at a total outlay of Rs.1.17 crore, benefiting 432 rural households with potable drinking water.
The Minister inaugurated the project at village Gaddowali (Jalandhar West Block), dedicating a water supply scheme worth Rs. 64.72 lakh, completed within ten months. This scheme will benefit 225 households with clean drinking water. Similarly, the second water supply scheme was inaugurated in village Jalbhe (Adampur Block), constructed at Rs. 52.26 lakh, completed within six months and will provide potable water to 207 households.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Mundian stated that under these schemes, the department completed the installation of new tubewells, reservoirs, pipelines, solar panels, chlorination units, and water connections, ensuring a comprehensive water supply system for these villages.
He reiterated that Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to ensuring holistic rural development at par with urban areas. “With these projects, the longstanding drinking water issue in these villages has been resolved, ensuring clean water at the doorstep of every household,” he added.
The Minister further added that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has already launched slew of initiatives including free electricity, development projects have shaped holistic development of the state. Now, new healthcare scheme will transform the entire healthcare system, enabling common people to avail the benefit of free of cost health service up to Rs. 10 lakh.
Halqa Incharge Pawan kumar Tinnu stated that these projects are part of the State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen basic infrastructure in rural Punjab and improve the quality of life for its people. They also said that more such projects were under progress and will be inaugurated in coming days. They said that Punjab Government has already rolled out unique initiatives to develop rural areas.
Sarpanch Gaddowali Bimaljit Kaur and Sarpanch Jalbhe Paramjit Kaur expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government for this initiative, terming it a milestone in rural development. They appreciated the Water Supply & Sanitation Department for executing these projects efficiently and within the stipulated timeline, bringing tangible benefits to rural families.
Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included SDM Adampur Vivek Modi, DSP Kulwant Singh, Chief Engineer Rajesh Dubey, and Chairman Market Committee Paramjit Singh.
