Three Villages From Each Constituency To Be Covered Everyday

Nasha Mukti Yatra will roll out in the district on May 7 under the coveted Yuddh Nashiyan Viruddh flagship program of Government of Punjab targeted at fighting the drug menace. Three villages from Bhadaur, Barnala and Mehal Kalan constituencies will be hosting the Nasha Mukti Yatra everyday that shall see participation of villagers joining hands against drugs.
Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr T Benith said while taking a meeting convened to discuss preparedness for the Yatra. He said that the yatra will be conducted in 81 villages of the district and other villages shall be covered as per instructions of government. He said that on May 7, the yatra will be held in Jhaloor, Sekha and Pharwahi villages of the Barnala constituency at 4 pm, 5pm and 6 pm respectively.
Similarly, in Bhadaur constituency it shall be held at Deepgarh, Majuke and Alkara villages as the same time. He added that at Mehal Kalan the yatra shall be held at villages Kutba, Nihaluwal and Gangohar at 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:30 noon.
Deputy Commissioner said that the event will see participation of public representatives as well as government officers from all departments in this event. The event will also have mass participation of villagers who will walk for the cause against drugs.
ADC (G) Ms Anuprita Johal, ADC (D) Mr Satwant Singh, SDM Tapa Ms Simarpreet Kaur, SDM Barnala Mr Harpreet Atwal, SDM Mehal Kalan Mr Harkanwaljit Singh, AC (UT) Mr. Shivansh Rathee, Chief Minister Field Officer Mr Jagdeep Kahlon and others were also present.
