Story And Screenplay - Guru Nanak Jahaz Movie Review
Guru Nanak Jahaz is the name of the Japanese ship Komagata Maru which travelled to Canada carrying more than 350 Indians in 1914 seeking a better life which they could not get in India due to British rule. Gurdit Singh (Gurpreet Ghuggi) took the charge and set the journey of Guru Nanak Jahaz ship to canada. Indians were denied entry into Canada by their government. Mewa Singh Lopoke (Tarsem Jassar) who was already in Canada fought for the rights of Indians living there. This story may be known to many but what actually happened before and after this will be shown in this film.
The screenplay of the movie struggled a bit in the first half but actually made it up till the credits rolled. Overall a never seen before cinematic experience awaits for you in cinemas.
Writer & Director - Guru Nanak Jahaz Movie Review
Writers Harnav Bir Singh & Sharan Art have chosen a chapter from the history book that would have been heard by many but the real heroes of that incident were unknown. Writers have done a commendable job in writing this unforgettable narrative. What makes it more impressive was the director Sharan Art’s vision. The way he has presented and captured the film is surely a big step forward in Punjabi film making which will be remembered for a long time.
Acting - Guru Nanak Jahaz Movie Review
Giving credit to just one main character in the film would be injustice to others as everyone in the film has performed equally exceptional in this film.
Tarsem Jassar has given his career best performance in this film. Mark Bennington & Edward Sonnenblick were surprisingly impactful being a non Punjabi actor in the film.
Balwinder Bullet was always impressed but a bit of disappointment came from Gurpreet Ghuggi where we may have expected more from him. Though he was impressive throughout, there came a moment where he just fell short for us.
Rest of the cast from every small character to the major one have given a top notch memorable performance enhancing overall impact.

Music - Guru Nanak Jahaz Movie Review
Historical films are always blessed with strong music and background score and once again we have witnessed the same. Be Deshe by Ranjit Bawa and Chadeya Punjab by Kulbir Jhinjer & Tarsem Jassar are different in the film's narrative. Overall music section ticked all boxers right in this film.
