8 services of Fisheries Department now under purview of Haryana Right to Service Act

The Haryana Government has brought eight services of the Fisheries Department under the purview of Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014, and has fixed time limit for these services. A notification to this effect has been issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi. Accordingly, under the Intensive Fisheries Development Programme, subsidy for the improvement of Panchayat ponds and private ponds will be made available within 40 days.
Along with the Intensive Fisheries Development Programme, for the welfare of the families belonging to the Scheduled Castes associated with the fisheries sector, subsidy on stove/gas stove, utensils etc. including carts for the sale of fish or fish products, purchase of fishing nets and subsidy on fertilizers and feed will also be made available within 40 days.
Apart from this, licence for fishing with fishing rod only for sports will be issued within three days. The Fisheries Officer of the concerned district has been named as the designated officer for all these services.
For grievance redressal, the concerned Deputy Director, Fisheries has been made the First Grievance Redressal Officer while the Director, Fisheries has been made the Second Grievance Redressal Officer.
