Haryana's Cooperation, Prison, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said as a tradition of Vedic education, Gurukul has always been making an important contribution in preparing youth who strengthen the nation and society. 

Today, we have to give full respect to the Gurukul tradition and motivate the youth and parents to imbibe it. The minister was addressing a gathering as the chief guest at the 16th anniversary of Vedic Gyan Yoga Mahavidyalaya Gurukulam, Juan (Sonipat) today. 

He said Arya Samaj has made a big contribution in the freedom movement. It not only gave priority to nationalism but also worked to continuously promote the Gurukul system of the Vedic period. He said we are proud that the Gurukul system in India has continuously connected students with all fields of knowledge. 

On the strength of this knowledge, our youth have made a mark in the world. He said Gurukul education inculcates moral and cultural values in a youth. In this, the Rishi tradition is being carried forward for human development. 

He said changing the education system of Lord Macaulay, today Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi is giving the youth an opportunity to connect with tradition and science in a creative way through the National Education Policy-2020. 

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana is rapidly implementing this policy due to which it has become an example in front of other states. Acharya Vednishith, Swami Dharmadev, Swami Sarvananda, Major Satpal Sindhu, Vice Chancellor of Gurukulam, Prof Sudesh and Acharya Vedvrat were present on the occasion.
