Anil Vij orders departmental action against officials who wrongly cancelled registration of construction workers

Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij has directed officials of the Labour Department to take departmental action against the personnel who wrongly cancelled the registration of construction workers. The decision was taken during a meeting related to Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board chaired by Sh. Anil Vij at his office here today.

Sh. Vij had met a delegation of registered construction workers in which they told the Labour Minister that their registration has been cancelled wrongly. A review of the matter revealed that the names of 50,000 construction workers have been blocked in the registered list without any concrete reason. 

The minister clarified that it is not possible for one employee to verify 2000 construction workers in a day, so strict action should be taken against the employees involved. Also, it was ordered that the names blocked wrongly should be re-investigated. 

Till this process is completed, no construction worker should be removed from the registered list. The officers were asked to take necessary steps to ensure a fair hearing.Principal Secretary of Labour Department, Sh. Rajeev Ranjan, Labour Commissioner Sh. Mani Ram Sharma and other officers were also present in the meeting.
