GOI Must Release Funds For Punjab 'S Tourism Projects Of National Importance: Sohan Singh Thandal

Held High Level Meeting To Finalise The Agenda To Be Discussed With Union Tourism Minister

The union government must own responsibility to fund the tourism products of punjab which are of national importance. We would soon urge the GOI to release money for such project so as to give new impetus to the tourism industry in the state of punjab. It was disclosed by Sohan Singh Thandal, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab while presiding over high level meeting with the senior officers of the Tourism Department to finalize the agenda which is to be discussed with Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, Government of India.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the Punjab government said that it was decided during the meeting that  the union government  would be requested to release funds for Museum Project Ram Bagh, Amritsar, release money to meet the shortfall and balance money for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum Khatkarkalan, Nawanshahar. Union Minister would also be requested  to clear proposal for setting up a food craft Institute of India at Mithran, Kapurthala, Setting up an Institute for Culture Promotion (Music Dance Theatre etc.) at Boothgarh District Mohali and Grant of funds for the setting up of Guru Ravidass Memorial at Khuralgarh. District Hoshiarpur.

The spokesperson further said that  Mr.Thandal also announced in the meeting that the Tourism Department of the state would impart high quality Guide Training through its agencies so that the tourists are well attended on their arrival to any place in the State.
