Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labor Minister Anil Vij today inaugurated a combined high-pressure jetting-cum-suction hydraulic sewer-cleaning machine in PWD Rest House, Ambala Cantonment. This machine, worth approximately ₹46.50 lakh, is equipped with a jetting tank capacity of 6,500 liters and a suction tank capacity of 3,500 liters. It was dedicated to the people of Ambala Cantonment to enhance public convenience.

Speaking to the media persons, Anil Vij highlighted that this advanced machine is capable of performing both jetting and suction tasks efficiently. Its compact size allows it to navigate narrow streets for seamless cleaning operations. Elaborating further, he mentioned that the vehicle will address sewer-related issues at their root across various parts of Ambala Cantonment.

Previously, separate machines were required for jetting and suction, but this combination unit will handle both functions and is capable of accessing even the smallest lanes to clean sewers. The machine can handle up to 10,000 liters of cleaning operations, with a pressure capacity of 2,200 PSI.

It is specifically designed for the sewer-cleaning needs of areas like Ambala Sadar.Vij also said that he has instructed the purchase of another similar machine for the Municipal Council. Additionally, ongoing sewer installation work is progressing across the entire Ambala Cantonment, extending up to Kalarehri.

It is noted that Anil Vij, Haryana's Transport Minister and a seven-time MLA from Ambala Cantonment, holds a public grievances session at the PWD Rest House every Monday. Over the past three sessions, a major issue highlighted by residents was the difficulty in sewer and drain cleaning. To address this, Vij inaugurated the sewer-cleaning vehicle before starting today's grievance session.
