Industries and Commerce Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma hoisted the flag at the district-level Independence Day celebration held at Shivaji Stadium in Panipat. In his address, the Minister congratulated the residents of the district on the 78th Independence Day and extended his best wishes. He also specially congratulated the brave soldiers stationed on the country's borders in challenging conditions.
Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that even after independence, Haryana's brave soldiers have continuously contributed to preserving the country's freedom, from the foreign invasions of 1962, 1965, and 1971 to the Kargil War. We can never repay the debt of the martyrs' sacrifices, but we can show respect by taking care of their families. In this direction, the government has established the 'Soldier and Paramilitary Welfare Department, said the Minister.
He said that the ex-gratia amount for soldiers and paramilitary forces who died in war or due to IED blasts has been increased to Rs. 50 lakh. The Agniveer Scheme has been introduced to offer special benefits in jobs and loans up to Rs. 5 lakh for self-employment.
He said adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, the government has provided transparent governance. The history of this sacred land, where the message of the Gita's karma has prevailed, has no place for religious intolerance or violence. Accordingly, efforts are continuously made to foster mutual love, harmony, and brotherhood in the state.
He said that in the past decade, Haryana has witnessed changes that have made every individual's life simpler, smoother, and safer, along with maintaining harmony, unity, and equal development.
