Rupnagar police arrest accomplice of attackers involved in murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar

Senior Superintendent of Police IPS Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana revealed in a press statement here today that Rupnagar police have arrested accomplice of attacker involved in murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar. Giving details, he said that on dated 13-04-2024, a shopkeeper named Vikas Prabhakar @ Vikas Bagga, pardhan of Vishva Hindu Parishad, Nangal mandal had been shot dead by two unidentified assailants. 

In this regard a case FIR No. 44 was registered on 13-04-2024 U/S 302/34 IPC 25/27-54-59 Arms Act at PS Nangal against unknowns. During the investigation two assailants were arrested on dated 16.04.2024 and 02 weapons of 32 bore Pistols, 16 live cartridges, 01 empty used cartridges and a TVS Jupiter scooty used in crime have been recovered from them.

Mr. Khurana said that acting on input during further investigation of case FIR no. 44 dated 13.04.2024 PS Nangal, Rupnagar Police has arrested Gurpreet Ram @ Gora S/o Madan Lala R/o Punnu Majara Distt. SBS Nagar and a 32 bore pistol and 07 live cartridges have been recovered from him.

He said that preliminary investigations reveal that arrested accused were handled by the same handlers who committed murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar @ Vikas Bagga at Nangal. He assured that Rupnagar Police is fully committed to eradicate organised crime and maintain peace & harmony in the district.

ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਸ. ਗੁਲਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਵੀਐਚਪੀ (ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ) ਆਗੂ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਦਾ ਸਰਗਨਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਿਤੀ 13-04-2024 ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਨੰਗਲ ਮੰਡਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ਉਰਫ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਬੱਗਾ ਨਾਮਕ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੋ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। 

ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਥਾਣਾ ਨੰਗਲ ਵਿਖੇ 13-04-2024 ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 302/34 25/27-54-59 ਆਰਮ ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਨੰਬਰ 44 ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਿਤੀ 16.04.2024 ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ 32 ਬੋਰ ਦੇ 02 ਪਸਤੌਲ, 16 ਜਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ, 01 ਖਾਲੀ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੇ ਗਏ ਇੱਕ ਟੀਵੀਐਸ ਜੁਪੀਟਰ ਸਕੂਟੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਿਲੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਐਫ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਨੰ. 44 ਮਿਤੀ 13.04.2024 ਥਾਣਾ ਨੰਗਲ, ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਉਰਫ ਗੋਰਾ ਵਾਸੀ ਪੁੰਨੂ ਮਜਾਰਾ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ 32 ਬੋਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਅਤੇ 07 ਜਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੰਗਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੀ.ਐਚ.ਪੀ ਆਗੂ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ਉਰਫ਼ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਬੱਗਾ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗਠਿਤ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਨ-ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਉਤੇ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
