Rally organized to mark World Liver Day at RBU

Rayat Bahra University took proactive steps to address the escalating challenge of liver diseases by organizing a rally on World Liver Day under the theme "No Liver, No Life." This initiative was aimed to draw attention to the pressing global issue of liver health and underscored the imperative for unified action.
World Liver Day serves as a poignant reminder of the growing burden of liver diseases worldwide and the critical need for concerted efforts to combat this health crisis. Led by Dean of University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (USPS) Dr Anju Goyal alongside Head of USPS, Ramica Sharma, and event coordinators Gauri and Suraj Sharma, the rally saw active participation from students of Pharmacy.
Together, they embarked on a mission to raise awareness about the importance of liver health and preventive measures against liver diseases. Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra said liver diseases, fueled by factors such as alcohol consumption, obesity, viral hepatitis, and unhealthy lifestyle habits, continue to pose significant health challenges globally. Through initiatives like the rally organized by USPS, efforts were directed towards educating communities about the significance of early detection, lifestyle modifications, and access to quality healthcare services for liver-related ailments.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh expressed appreciation for the school's commitment to advancing public health awareness and applauded the collaborative spirit demonstrated by the students and faculty members. He reaffirmed the university's unwavering support for such impactful endeavors.

ਰਿਆਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ਼ ਫਾਰਮਾਸਿਊਟੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਵੱਲੋਂ ‘ਨੋ ਲਿਵਰ, ਨੋ ਲਾਈਫ’ ਥੀਮ ਹੇਠ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਲਿਵਰ ਦਿਵਸ ’ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਰੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਧਦੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਵਿਆਪੀ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਖਿੱਚਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਲਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ਼ ਫਾਰਮਾਸਿਊਟੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਡਾ. ਅੰਜੂ ਗੋਇਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਐਸਪੀਐਸ ਦੀ ਹੈੱਡ, ਰਮਿਕਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਵੈਂਟ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਗੌਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਰੇਖ ਹੇਠ ਰੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਰਮੇਸੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਦੇ ਉਪਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦੀ ਖਪਤ, ਮੋਟਾਪਾ, ਵਾਇਰਲ ਹੈਪੇਟਾਈਟਸ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰ-ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਦਤਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਕਾਰਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸਿਹਤ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਰੈਲੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਜਿਗਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਛੇਤੀ ਖੋਜ, ਜੀਵਨਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਈਸ-ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ. ਪਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜਨ ਸਿਹਤ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ । ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਨੇ ਜਿਗਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਪੱਖੀ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਦਕਿ ਵਾਈਸ-ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ. ਪਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਅਟੁੱਟ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬਧਤਾ ਦੁਹਰਾਈ।
