Asks SDMs to take care of grain having excess moisture

Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain, while reviewing the ongoing procurement operations in the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District, instructed the SDMs to keep the grain having excess moisture content away from the mandis. Exhorting the farming community also, the Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Jain said that the excess moisture content would take extra time to get the crop dry, resulting in a glut in the grain markets.
She said that the district administration has made adequate arrangements for the procurement of wheat so they should not bring the moisture-content wheat in the grain markets hurriedly. She said that so far Banur, Kharar, Lalru and Derabassi Mandis have witnessed the arrival of wheat but with excess moisture content that is causing problems in procurement.
She said that the procurement agencies are bound to purchase the grain within specifications so the farmers should take care of the moisture content. The Deputy Commissioner asked the SDMs to keep moisture meters available on the entry points and sensitise the farmers to specified moisture content. She said that the district administration has 17 procurement centres that are ready to procure wheat crops in the district.
She also asked the procurement agencies to be in the field and escalate the procurement. The officers who attended the meeting included ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke, SDM Mohali Depankar Garg, DFSC Vijay Kumar Singla while SDM Derabassi Himanshu Gupta, SDM Kharar Gurmandar Singh, District Mandi Officer Gagandeep Singh and DMs of agencies participated in the meeting online.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਵੱਧ ਨਮੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਮੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧੂ ਸਮਾਂ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀੜ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਨਮੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਣਕ ਦਾਣਾ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਲਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਲਿਆਉਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਬਨੂੜ, ਖਰੜ, ਲਾਲੜੂ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਆਮਦ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਮੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਖਰੀਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖਰੀਦ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਅਨਾਜ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਬੰਦ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਮੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਐਂਟਰੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਨਮੀ ਦੇ ਮੀਟਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਨਮੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਕੋਲ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਲਈ 17 ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਰੀਦ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੀਲਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਏ ਡੀ ਸੀ (ਜ) ਵਿਰਾਜ ਐਸ ਤਿੜਕੇ, ਐਸ ਡੀ ਐਮ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦੀਪੰਕਰ ਗਰਗ, ਡੀ ਐਫ ਐਸ ਸੀ ਵਿਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਜਦਕਿ ਐਸ ਡੀ ਐਮ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਹਿਮਾਂਸ਼ੂ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਐਸ ਡੀ ਐਮ ਖਰੜ ਗੁਰਮੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੰਡੀ ਅਫਸਰ ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਡੀ ਐਮਜ਼ ਨੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
