To ensure a free, fair and transparent lok sabha election in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Mrs Aashika Jain has ordered to installation of IP Control Enabled CCTV cameras on all the liquor vends and subvends in the district with immediate effect to cover Point of Sale and Point of Storage.      Directing the Excise Officials to set up a control room with them, the access to the cameras would also be shared with the District Election Control Room and District Police's Election Cell, said the Deputy Commissioner. She said that the sale and stock of liquor in the district sold through liquor vends and sub-vends would be monitored strictly to rule out any allurement in the name of distribution of liquor. The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the information, the district has 299 liquor vends besides setting up 38 sub-vends and two model shops in departmental stores. 

To ensure foolproof arrangements the district administration would not let any loophole to keep unplugged to maintain the election environment free and fair. She also directed the new entrants of Excise business in the district to abide by all the instructions already passed on to them in the wake of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਆਬਕਾਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਚ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੈਮਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਚੋਣ ਸੈੱਲ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦੇ ਠੇਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਬ-ਠੇਕਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੇਚੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਕ 'ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ 'ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਲੁਭਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਕਾਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਡਿ

ਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦੇ 299 ਠੇਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 38 ਸਬ-ਠੇਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟਲ ਸਟੋਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਮਾਡਲ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਢਿੱਲ-ਮੱਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਬਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ 2024 ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਖਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ।
