The iDreamCareer founders entered the tank seeking an investment of Rs. 1.10 crore in exchange for a 1.28% equity stake in their company. The Sharks' Response

While some, like Ritesh Agarwal (founder of OYO), recognized the importance of iDreamCareer's mission and expressed confidence in India's future, others questioned the scalability of the business model and the low equity ask. Peyush Bansal (founder & CEO of Lenskart) even suggested the founders might benefit more from counseling themselves!

The Deal

Despite some initial skepticism, the pitch took an unexpected turn. A bidding war erupted between Aman Gupta and Ritesh Agarwal. Both Sharks saw the potential in iDreamCareer and were eager to invest. Ultimately, Aman and Ritesh Agarwal emerged victorious with a counteroffer of Rs. 60 lahks for 1% equity and 50 lakh debt at 8% interest for 3 years, valuing iDreamCareer at a significantly higher rate than the founders initially proposed.

The Outcome: A Win for iDreamCareer

iDreamCareer walked away from the Shark Tank India stage with a much-needed financial boost and a valuable partnership with Aman Gupta And Ritesh Agarwal. This investment will allow them to expand their reach and empower more students to pursue their dream careers.
