Administration gears up for smooth wheat procurement

During a meeting to review preparations for the wheat procurement for the Rabi Season 2024-25, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney reiterated the firm commitment to procure every single grain of wheat from the farmers. She directed the officials of food and civil supplies and heads of procurement agencies in the district to ensure the exercise is carried out in a smooth and hassle-free manner during the upcoming procurement season.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the wheat had been sown on 2.50 lakh hectares area of the district and around 8.11 lakh MT wheat was expected to arrive in 108-grain markets. She directed all the officials to personally supervise the wheat procurement operations across the district beginning from April 1. This is to ensure prompt procurement and lifting of wheat as per their allotted share of procurement.
Sawhney emphasized that farmers in the district should not be put to any inconvenience for the sale of their produce in the grain markets. The Sub Divisional Magistrates would be accountable for the smooth procurement operations in grain markets under their jurisdictions so that farmers do not face any sort of problem in selling their harvest.
She asked Mandi Board officials to make sure of arrangements in grain markets to save produce from the rain in case and to have proper sanitation facilities. Similarly, Sawhney also issued instructions to make requisite arrangements for power, sheds for the farmers, and potable water supply in each procurement centre.
The Deputy Commissioner categorically said that all efforts should be made to ensure smooth, hassle-free and quick procurement of wheat on one hand and facilitate the farmers in getting timely payment of their produce on the other. Prominent among the present on the occasion included SDM Vikas Hira, DFSC West Sanjay Sharma, DFSC East Shefali Chopra, and others.

ਹਾੜੀ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ 2024-25 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਣਕ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਦਾਣਾ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਦੁਹਰਾਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਤੇ ਸਿਵਲ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਆਗਾਮੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ 2.50 ਲੱਖ ਹੈਕਟੇਅਰ ਰਕਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਬਿਜਾਈ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 108 ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 8.11 ਲੱਖ ਮੀਟਰਕ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਣਕ ਦੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਖਰੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਅਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਸਬ ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨਲ ਮੈਜਿਸਟਰੇਟ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਅਧੀਨ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਕਤ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਡੀ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਦੇ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਨ।
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਖਰੀਦ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਜਲੀ, ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੈੱਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਲਦ ਖਰੀਦ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਸਲ ਦੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਅਦਾਇਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਐਮ. ਵਿਕਾਸ ਹੀਰਾ, ਡੀ.ਐਫ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. ਵੈਸਟ ਸੰਜੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀ.ਐਫ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. ਈਸਟ ਸ਼ੈਫਾਲੀ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
