In a crucial meeting held at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla, Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa led discussions on several significant agendas, including the advancement of the PM-Vishwakarma scheme and the procurement of nutritional supplies via ICDS.

The session focused primarily on evaluating the progress of the PM-Vishwakarma scheme within the district, highlighting ongoing training batches since the previous month. DC Sherpa urged officers to resolve approximately 650 pending cases to facilitate upcoming training sessions. He also mandated Community Service Centers to station representatives at 26 block headquarters to expedite application processes.

The assembly addressed enhancements in procuring nutrition supplies through ICDS, underlining the necessity for thorough action. Sherpa instructed the District Program Officer to ensure total fund utilization, aiming for complete procurement of the nutritional necessities.

Furthermore, Sherpa revealed that Block Development Officers (BDOs) now have the authority to issue supply orders and sanction payments for nutritional procurements. He also ordered concerned Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) to guarantee that Anganwadi workers and helpers receive their honorariums promptly, within three days post-attendance verification.

In light of the upcoming elections, Sherpa was briefed on the need for constructing ramps at 14 polling locations to ensure accessibility. He instructed the Assistant Commissioner Development to complete ramp constructions within a week and directed the deputy District Election Officer to collaborate with Booth Level Officers for identifying additional venues requiring ramp installations, ensuring all polling stations are accessible for voters.
