Sheetal Nanda Highlights Pahari Heritage: Unveils Cultural Calendar and Brochure for Community Empowerment

In an event marked by cultural appreciation and community support, Commissioner Secretary of Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, introduced a new set of initiatives aimed at uplifting the Pahari Speaking community in Jammu and Kashmir. Among the significant contributions unveiled were a detailed calendar and brochure, which beautifully illustrate the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Pahari Speaking people.

Adding to the educational resources, Nanda also presented a Geo-locational map pinpointing the locations of Pahari hostels throughout the Union Territory. This tool is designed to improve the visibility and accessibility of educational accommodations for Pahari students and community members, enhancing their academic and social opportunities.

The launch event was attended by key figures from the Social Welfare Department, including Secretary Rachna Sharma, Director Finance Anil Kumar Dogra, and other notable officials. The ceremony reflected a collective commitment to promoting the welfare and development of the Pahari Speaking community.

Emphasizing the value of cultural recognition and inclusivity, Sheetal Nanda highlighted the administration's dedication to fostering a diverse and unified Jammu and Kashmir. The introduction of the calendar, brochure, and map signifies a meaningful stride towards acknowledging and empowering the Pahari Speaking people within the region.

Sapna Kotwal, Secretary of the J&K Advisory Board for the Development of Pahari Speaking People, expressed deep appreciation for the Commissioner Secretary's leadership and continuous support in advancing the community's interests. The event symbolizes a progressive step towards inclusivity and recognition of the Pahari Speaking community's unique cultural identity and heritage.
