In the latest iteration of the Block Diwas initiative, aimed at addressing public grievances directly, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, conducted a public darbar in the remote area of Manzgam. 

The event attracted an impressive turnout from the communities of Avil, Aasnoor, Manzgam, Hallan, and surrounding villages, who seized the opportunity to present their concerns and requests to the district leadership for prompt resolution.

Key issues brought to the fore during the session included the need for a new receiving station at Manzgam, enhancements to the local LT network, refurbishment of the Ahrabal canal, additional staff for PHC Manzgam, and the provision of government accommodations for official use.

Concerns were also raised about infrastructure, specifically the urgent need for proper drainage systems along Hallan road among other developmental needs.DC Khan, addressing the community's needs, provided immediate solutions to some pressing issues and assured that all other matters would be addressed promptly. 

He encouraged the public to engage more actively in Gram Sabhas, highlighting their importance in the democratic process and in the prioritization of local development projects. Furthermore, DC Khan called for community support to maintain cleanliness and enhance the aesthetic appeal of Kulgam district. 

He also directed the Agriculture and related departments to conduct special awareness and registration camps under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) to ensure local farmers and beneficiaries are well-informed and registered for the benefits available to them.

The community expressed appreciation for the district administration's efforts, particularly acknowledging the timely snow clearance and restoration of services post-winter. The event was well-attended by senior district officials including ADDC Bashir Ahmad Wani, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, and other key personnel, demonstrating the administration's commitment to accessible and responsive governance.
