Budgam's Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo Spearheads Efforts to Enhance Water Infrastructure

In a significant move towards improving water supply in Budgam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Akshay Labroo led a monthly review meeting on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), focusing on crucial water supply schemes and the town’s inclusion under the ambitious AMRUT 2.0 project.

During the meeting, DC Labroo authorized two key works for the Mechanical Department, specifically the Water Supply Schemes (WSS) for Hewudur and Paripora, Watmagam. This step is part of a broader effort to ensure the comprehensive coverage of Budgam town under a substantial Rs. 442.41 lac Water Supply Scheme facilitated by the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0).

Labroo meticulously reviewed the progress of various ongoing water schemes, including the development of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), the tendering process, and the allocation of work across all JJM projects. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the completion of these projects to guarantee a reliable potable drinking water supply throughout the district.

The meeting also covered discussions on the construction of filtration plants, overhead tanks (OHTs), reservoirs, pipeline laying, and other related activities, underlining the administration's commitment to enhancing Budgam's water infrastructure.

Attended by key officials including the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Superintendent Engineer (SE) Hydraulics, Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), District Forest Officer (DFO), and Executive Engineers from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, the gathering reflected a unified approach towards ensuring the successful implementation of water supply initiatives in Budgam.
