Kulgam District Gears Up for Pulse Polio Immunization Drive 2024 Under Leadership of DC Athar Aamir Khan

In a significant move to bolster public health initiatives, Kulgam District's Deputy Commissioner (DC), Athar Aamir Khan, presided over a crucial District Task Force (DTF) meeting aimed at strategizing the Pulse Polio Immunization campaign for the year 2024. 

Scheduled for March 3, 2024, the campaign targets to immunize all children under the age of 5 within the district, ensuring no child is left vulnerable to the crippling disease.The comprehensive meeting delved into various critical aspects necessary for the seamless execution of the Pulse Polio Immunization drive. 

Discussions encompassed detailed planning on human resources, vaccine and cold chain management, logistics, transport, and the identification of transit points and areas that are challenging to access. A key highlight from the meeting was the emphasis on robust social mobilization efforts to ensure widespread community engagement and participation.

With an estimated population of 88,381 children under the age of 5 in Kulgam, the task at hand is formidable. However, the district administration, under Khan's guidance, has proactively taken measures to address potential challenges head-on. 

The administration has laid out a comprehensive plan to reach every nook and corner of the district, including the most remote and difficult-to-reach areas, ensuring no child is missed in the immunization drive.

DC Athar Aamir Khan, in his address to the stakeholders, underscored the importance of teamwork and collective effort in achieving the ambitious goal of the immunization drive. He pledged unwavering support and assistance from the district administration to further enhance the health sector's capabilities in Kulgam.

The meeting saw active participation from various stakeholders, including the District Program Officer (DPO) Abdul Rasheed, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Dy CMO), Block Medical Officers (BMO), the District Nodal Officer (DNO) for AYUSH, and other concerned officials. 

This collaborative approach signifies the district's commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of its youngest residents, aiming for a polio-free future for all.
