Ensure Hassle-free Delivery of Ration under the 'Ghar Ghar Muft Ration' initiative, DC to officials

Holds Meeting with the stakeholder departments to benefit all the registered beneficiaries

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Saturday took a meeting of all the stakeholder departments to make the penetration of the 'Ghar Ghar Muft Ration' initiative to each and every beneficiary registered under the scheme.

After attending a video conferencing with the Punjab Chief Secretary on the smooth and hassle-free delivery of the ration to every eligible household, the Deputy Commissioner asked the officials present in the meeting to make foolproof arrangements for the distribution of Ration under the 'Ghar Ghar Muft Ration'. 

She said that currently the district has 46175 ration cards under the scheme and it will be ensured that all the beneficiaries registered under the scheme will get the ration.Entrusting the monitoring of the task to the Additional Deputy Commissioners  (General, Rural Development and Urban Development), she directed all the departments involved in the scheme to submit a daily progress report to them.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the beneficiaries need not to visit  the depots after the arrangements for home delivery are in place in the state as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann.

She asked the DFSC Vijay Kumar Singla to ensure that the scheme should be implemented with transparency and honesty and no one could have to approach the depots to get their ration as they did earlier.

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain while giving the details of the Smart Ration Cards and the quantity of the ration that is to be delivered at doorsteps said that the district has a total number of 46175 Smart Ration Cards, against them an allocation of 908 MT of Ration has been made for the Month of January.

She said that the District Food Supply and Controller and District Manager Markfed have been asked to expedite the distribution so that all the beneficiaries could get the ration in time. The Regional Transport Officer has been asked to make the additional vehicles available so that the teams can cover the district without missing the distribution deadline.
