In a significant outreach initiative, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Administrative Secretary for Health and Medical Education in Jammu and Kashmir, led a public darbar in Baramulla, aiming to bridge the gap between the administration and local communities.
This event, part of the government's comprehensive public outreach and grievance redressal program, provided a platform for direct interaction between the public and governmental authorities.During the darbar, delegations and individuals from Baramulla and surrounding areas voiced various developmental and administrative issues requiring immediate attention.
Key concerns highlighted included the need for a mini secretariat in Baramulla, the establishment of an IT park, enhancements in water transportation from Sopore to Baramulla, road macadamization, the installation of an advanced MRI scanner at GMC Baramulla, and improvements in portable water supply and media office accommodations.
Dr. Abid Rasheed actively engaged with the participants, addressing many grievances on the spot and issuing directives to relevant officers for the swift resolution of outstanding issues. He reassured the attendees of the administration's dedication to collaborative governance and prompt problem-solving.
Highlighting the essence of public darbars, Dr. Abid Rasheed emphasized their role in facilitating direct communication between the government and the citizens, thereby ensuring governance reaches the doorstep of the common man.
He further instructed officers to meticulously document all grievances presented during the darbar and track the progress of their resolution, aiming for action on all issues within a 15-day period, where feasible.
In addition to the grievance redressal session, Dr. Abid Rasheed inspected various departmental stalls exhibiting government schemes and services, which illustrated the administration's efforts to inform and benefit the public. The event also saw the distribution of sanction letters, golden cards, and certificates to eligible beneficiaries, reinforcing the government's commitment to public welfare.
The event, attended by notable officials including Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, and other district authorities, marked a step forward in enhancing public administration and services in the region, reflecting a model of governance that prioritizes accessibility, responsiveness, and community engagement.
