Congress Suffers Major Setback In Baghapurana Constituency As Its Face Jasbir Kaur Samalsar Joins SAD

The Congress Party today suffered a major setback in the Malwa region, second in last few days, as its face in the Bagha Purana constituency Bibi Jasbir Kaur Samalsar along with her  thousands of supporters joined Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of Party President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal. It is a second jolt to Congress in the Moga area few days ago its Dalit face Mr. Ajit Singh Shant had joined SAD. 

Speaking on the occasion Bibi Jasbir Kaur Samalsar said that Congress Party in Punjab has lost its connect with the grass root leaders as only drawing room politicians were calling the shots. She said that she was feeling stiffened in the Congress Party with its leaders indulging in disruptive politics and creating hurdles for every development project of the state. Bibi Samalsar, who had been president of Mahila Congress, Member PPCC, Secretary PPCC, Chairman Block Samiti and Member Zila Parishad also, said that even after losing Vidhan Sabha elections the Congress party seemed to have learnt no lesson and she was joining Shiromani Akali Dal impressed by the leadership of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab and visionary policies of Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal. 

Welcoming Bibi Jasbir Kaur Samalsar, Bikkar Singh Brar and Amrit Pal Singh in the fold of Shiromani Akali Dal, SAD President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that his party always believed in associating every grass root level leader in the decision making process. He said that the Sangat Darshan program launched by Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal was meant to have a direct connect with the grass root population and reorienting the policies according to the local needs of the people. He regretted that instead of learning from mass contact program, the congress party is on suicide path disrupting mass contact program like Sangat Darshan. He assured that Bibi Samalsar and her supporters would be given due respect in the party.Bibi Samalsar said that she would organize a rally in Bagha Purana in few days in which her thousands of supporters would formally join SAD in the presence of its president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal. 

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mr. Maheshinder Singh Nihalsingh Wala, MLA, Mr. Gurlabh Singh Jandewala West, former District YAD president, Mr. Nirdharak Singh Brar, Spokesperson and Vice President SAD, Mr. Tirath Singh Mallah, District President SAD Moga and Mr. Dharampal Singh Nihal Singh Wala.
