DC Mohali Aashika Jain Visits ITI Manakpur Sharif to start skill training labs

To be Run with industry need based courses

In order to facilitate the rural students of the district Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar surrounding Majri block with latest skill training, the Industrial Training Institute, Manakpur Sharif will be developed as state of the art training institute-cum-skill centre, said Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, during her visit to ITI today.

She said that the ITI has been sanctioned funds worth Rs. 1.28 Crore by the Rajya Sabha Member S. Vikramjit Singh Sahney for installing training equipment in workshops. The Deputy Commissioner said that the visit was aimed at resolving the local level issues such as leveling of ground besides disposal of storm sewer and liquid waste.

She said that a local committee management committee (Institutional Management Committee) based on the local industrialists have already been in place to design and run the courses as per the need of Industry. In other words, the Industrial Training Institute will work as Centre of Excellence.

The IMC members who were also present there were urged by the Deputy Commissioner to run and promote the institute to further benefit the youth by imparting skills. She said that the Institute currently have 85 Students and as soon as the workshops will be set up the number will rise to more.

Reiterating Bhagwant Singh Mann Governement's commitment to make the youth skilled to be able to get jobs, she said that the institute would soon be emerged as a Model ITI. She was accompanied by ADC (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, AC (Under Training) Davy Goyal (Additional Charge as SDM Kharar), DDPO Amarinder Pal Singh Chauhan, Executive Engineer PWD Shivpreet Singh besides Industrialists.
