However, there is no such official confirmation available on any reliable platform either from the government or from any company. But there are lots of media reports circulating on the internet about the making of a new airport in Lakshadweep that have gone viral.

Amid Maldives Controversy India Planning To Make Lakshadweep A New Tourist Destination

The Lakshadweep islands are being promoted on social media as a substitute for the Maldives as a tourist destination. Recently, information about a proposal to build a new airstrip in the Minicoy Islands that will accommodate both military and commercial aircraft including fighter aircraft has surfaced. will have the ability to pilot aircraft.

What is the India & Maldives controversy?

The India & Maldives controversy started last year, when Mohamed Muizzu became the PM. He is known for anti India movements, as he started the “India Out” campaign and his party's main agenda to get the Indian Army away from Maldives.
