Online booking of Kisan Bhawan and Kisan Haveli starts: Harchand Singh Barsat

A forest of 700 trees of 36 species has been developed in 7880 square feet

Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board S. Harchand Singh Barsat today launched a web portal for online booking at Kisan Bhawan in Chandigarh and Kisan Haveli in Sri Anandpur Sahib (Ropar). Informing the media S. Harchand Singh Barsat said, Alongwith booking the rooms on the spot, people through this web portal can also book rooms from anywhere and can avail the facilities at reasonable prices. 

He shared that apart from online booking in Kisan Bhawan and Kisan Haveli, more information can be obtained through the website kisanbhawan.emandikaran-pb.in. He further informed that Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh is spread over 3 acres. For the convenience of the people, all kinds of concrete arrangements have been made. Parking facility for more than 100 vehicles have been developed. 

There are 40 bedrooms and 115 dormitory beds, which are fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern amenities ranging  from TV to study tables. He told that there are two conference halls named Raavi and Chenab with capacity of  100 and 40 people respectively. Two big multipurpose halls named Sutlej and Beas with capacity of 1000 and 150 people respectively. There is also a large air-conditioned dining hall and ATM facility. 

He said that air pollution can be reduced only by planting more and more trees. Keeping this in mind,  along with lush green lawns and landscaping areas, a forest of 700 trees of 36 different species has also been developed in 7880 square feet area of Kisan Bhawan. He also told that Kisan Haveli, Sri Anandpur Sahib (Ropar) has a total of 14 rooms equipped with modern facilities.

S. Harchand Singh Barsat told that booking is going on continuously in Kisan Bhawan. While the income in April was Rs 7,08,350 by the month of December it has increased to Rs 43,02,154. He informed that in the 2023-24 financial year (till December), Mandi Board has earned Rs 2,63,34,730 through Kisan Bhawan. S. Harchand Singh Barsat shared that to provide more facilities to people at lower cost and for the financial benefit of Mandi Board,  Punjab Mandi Board has developed its own software for booking and other work  in Kisan Bhawan and Kisan Haveli.  

He stressed that the Punjab government is always striving for the welfare of farmers and people and will continue to work for their betterment in future also. On this occasion Chief Operating Officer Paramjit Singh and all officers of Punjab Mandi Board were present.
