NC to foil anti-people agenda of PDP, BJP: Sajjad

Describing Peoples Democratic Party as the brain child of former Deputy Prime Minister and BJP patriarch Lal Krishan Advani, National Conference leader and candidate for Banihal Assembly Constituency, Sajjad Shaheen on Thursday said the two parties have a clandestine agenda of trampling the special identity of Jammu and Kashmir.“PDP and BJP and two faces of the same coin and both are playing complimentary and supplementary to each other”, he said at a function held in connection with joining of several prominent workers of BJP and PDP into the NC fold.According to a statement issued to KNS, Shaheen referred to horrendous 2008 agitation and said that the row was the machinations of these two parties to polarise the situation for electoral gains. He said National Conference, however, did not allow to succeed their game plan and foiled it with active support of the peace loving people of Jammu and Kashmir. He cautioned the people against sinister designs of these parties and hoped they will maintain unity and brotherhood.

Referring to his candidature from the constituency, Shaheen expressed his gratitude to the party leadership and said he will strive for coming to the expectations of the people and the high command. He exhorted the party functionaries and workers to gear up for the ensuing elections and exuded confidence that National Conference will emerge victorious in the elections slated later this year.

Shaheen also enumerated the achievements of Omar led government and said this has generated hope among the people about their developmental aspirations being met with sincerity of purpose. He also referred to the innovative measures of making the administration responsive and accountable besides carving out larger role for the rural population in decision making. He congratulated the new entrants and hoped this will further strengthen the National Conference at grass roots level.Those who joined the party included Sansar singh Panch,   Rahmatula Sohil Panch,  Sham Singh,  Sandeep Singh,  Surjit Singh,  Ranjit Singh,  kuldeep Singh, Mushtaq Ahmed, Om Singh,  Javed Ahmed,  Farid Ahmed,  Mohd Hayat and others.
