GDC Marh organises plethora of activities under vision Viksit Bharat@2047: Voice of Youth

Government Degree College Marh joined hands with the launch of Government’s biggest Initiative by conducting a series of activities under the Vision Viksit Bharat@2047. The special series of activities is being held under the guidance of Principal of the college Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Koul. Addressing the faculty and students, the Principal of the college emphasized the importance of college students in achieving this goal. 

He exhorted the students to contribute by giving innovative ideas and suggestions and register themselves on MyGov Portal. He urged the faculty to guide and encourage students to come up with recent and inventive ideas to fulfill the dream of our Prime Minister.

To promote, organize, disseminate information, and mobilize the students for the whole event, ensuring the feedback from students on MyGov Portal, the Viksit Bharat Committee was constituted, while an event itinerary was prepared for activities to be conducted under theme “Viksit Bharat @2047”

On December 11, 2023 a whatsapp group Viksit Bharat GDC Marh was made, in which all the faculty and students of the college are added to provide the updates regarding the campaign by the convenor of Viksit Bharat committee. Government Degree College Marh, in collaboration with BDO Office, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Government Middle School, Dhateryal, organized the reception of Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra on  Dec 13, 2023.

The participants received the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Van, which started its journey from Jharkhand, travelling across different parts of the country and reaching Govt. Degree College Marh. The campaign showcased a significant commitment to rural development and community empowerment. The collaborative effort aimed to promote the Prime Minister’s vision to actively involve the youth of the country in formulation of national plans, priorities and goals of the country. 

Principal of the College Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, welcomed all the dignitaries, local public and officials controlling stalls put up by different government departments and expressed gratitude for this collaborative effort to disseminate the information quickly and for convenient communication among the students “Notice on Notice Boards” activity was conducted ON Dec 13. 

Small size posters or print outs with QR Code and web link were displayed on all the notice boards of the colleges by the department of Physical Education. A poster making competition was organised on Dec 15 under the theme “Goals for Viksit Bharat”, while on Dec 18, 2023 a debate competition on the theme Ideas for Developed India @ 2047 was  organized by the Department of Sociology.

Similarly, a Faculty talk on the ideas for Viksit Bharat with students was also organized by all the faculty members of the college on Dec 19, 2023. In the faculty talk members guided and encouraged the students to give their ideas for nation building.  Likewise a movie was screened for students by NSS PO Sachin Kumar Bhagat On Dec 21, 2023. 

The movie gave a detailed view of various challenges such as poverty, GDP, Sustainable Economy, Human Development Index, Poverty; Unemployment India has to face in order to become a developed nation. A Marathon was also organized in the college by department of Physical Education and Sports on Dec 23, 2023. The Principal flagged off the marathon run witnessing participation of 53 students of the college.

As per the directions of Higher Education Department, a selfie booth point was purchased in the college campus on Dec 26/12/2023with slogan “I have shared my idea for ViksitBharat@2047. Have You?  A large number of students participated in the event. The Selfie booth point was highly appreciated by the students. 

The initiative aims to promote the vision of a developed India by the year 2047. The activities were organized by Imitaz Shahid (HOD Zoology), Anjana Chib (HOD EVS), Ravi Kumar (PTI) and Dr. Shakun Sharma (HOD Sociology).
