District Level Cooperative Development Committee Charts Course for Holistic Growth in Ramban

A meeting of the District Level Cooperative Development Committee (DLCDC) was held here today to review the working of the Cooperative Institutions. The meeting was held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; ACR, Giasul-Haq; CPO, Shakeeb Ahmed Rather; ACD, Ashok Singh Katoch; GM DIC, Ravinder Anand; CAHO, Dr. Sohail Kawoosa; CAO, Ram Gopal; CMO, Dr. Kamal Zadu; AD Fisheries, Fiyaz Ahmed; DSHO, Dr. Shabir Ahmed; AMO, Sunil Bakshi; AD FCS&CA, Rahul Sharma; Dy. Registrar Cooperatives, Priyanka Sharma, AMO, Sunil Bakshi, representatives FCI & CSC and other concerned officers.

A detailed discussion was held wherein DRCS was instructed to increase the number of PACS in addition to existing 13 PACS which are covering 143 Panchayats to extend the benefit of Cooperatives at the grassroots level. The ADC instructed all the committee members to work in close coordination to register more Multipurpose PACS, Dairy & Fisheries Cooperatives.

Further, the ACR Ramban was directed to identify 2 kanal   state land on NH44 near Ramsoo for opening of Petrol/Diesel pump by PACS. He also directed the representatives of FCI to submit the feasibility report required for implementation of the project of World’s largest Grain Storage within a period of 10 days. 

The Committee further directed the other PACS to apply for fertilizer license & implement PM KUSUM scheme after conducting the survey with JAKEDA besides emphasizing to work towards creating a viable & sustainable Cooperative model.

The chairman lauded the new DLCDC committee framed for strengthening the Cooperative movement & deepening its roots in J&K which includes the departmental heads of Revenue, RDD, Agriculture & Allied sectors.

Earlier, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies District Ramban highlighted the agenda of the meeting along with the progress achieved on various initiatives like CSC, Jan Aushadi Kendras, PMKSK, Computerization of PACS etc.Further, the progress under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme was also reviewed by the District Level Committee.

The Committee approved 935 applications of beneficiaries for execution of different interventions and activities during the current financial year. It will help in transforming the agricultural economy of district Ramban and pave the way for holistic growth and export, besides making the agriculture sectors sustainable & commercially viable. It will also create employment opportunities for youth.
