CGC Landran Awards Degrees to Over 3,000 Students at 17th Annual Convocation

More than 3,000 students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran, of both engineering and non-engineering streams, were awarded degrees at the 17th annual convocation of the institution which included 100 meritorious students. 

The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest Mr Sumed Marwaha, Managing Director, Unisys India Private Limited, who was accompanied by Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran, Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Deans and Directors of CGC. Students from Engineering, Management, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Education streams were conferred with degrees at the convocation.

Delivering his remarks Mr. Marwaha began by congratulating all the students and their families on achieving this significant milestone. He further shared four life lessons or learnings acquired over his career, offering them as valuable advice to the newly minted graduates. 

These included being a student for life.  Earning and learning go hand in hand, he added further. The second lesson was to not just work for the money one would get but for the money that one deserved. “If you continue enhancing your skills and career, money will follow you wherever you go”, he asserted. 

Being approachable while keeping one’s ego in check and always being receptive to change, were the remaining two life lessons he highlighted in his speech. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran extended their best wishes to all the students and lauded them for making their parents, the institution and themselves proud.
